Celestron CGX-L 925 EDGE HD Telescope The CGX-L computerised equatorial mount is the latest design from Celestron to join our range of computerised equatorial mounts.

Able to hold Celestron's largest optical tubes with ease, the CGX-L is designed for observations even with remote cameras thanks to its exceptional load-to-weight ratio.

It also incorporates a compact design and innovative features to support large telescopes, astrophotography equipment and the latest in wireless technology.

The main objectives of the new design include a 144 mm diameter ring gear that provides more precise guidance even with heavy loads.

It includes a 270mm dovetail to support larger optical tubes.

Also the wifi support with accessories that incorporate features such as Polar alignment and automatic detection of the Sky Portal module, and improved overall cable management.

In addition, mechanical and ergonomic improvements have been made to make the mount more robust, easier to use and easier to transport.

The CGX-L is COMPACT, ERGONOMIC AND INNOVATIVE.

Optical tube: Observe the universe in HD.

EdgeHD is a Schmidt Flatbed Telescope designed to provide aberration-free images over a wide field of view and photography.

The optical system was designed to reduce not only the off-axis coma effect, but also to provide a totally uniform photographic focal plane across the entire field of view.

Real astrographic quality.

Many self-designated "astrographic" quality optical designs actually produce point stars along a curved focal plane.

While this may be acceptable in visual observations, the stars will appear out of focus at the edges when using flat CCD sensors from digital cameras.

EdgeHD optics produce a focal plane that is three times more uniform than that offered by classic Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes and radically flatter than other comma-free designs.

This guarantees that the user will get perfectly defined images across the entire range of the largest CCD sensors available today.

Even when the object is perfectly defined in the centre of the field of view, a curved focal plane will produce images that are out of focus at the edges.

The wider the field of view, the more pronounced the defects.

EdgeHD design features not only provide pleasant spot images, but also improve resolution and magnitude limiting compared to other telescopes with similar apertures.

Celestron's high-definition optics allow small spot sizes to be resolved across the entire field, revealing fine detail and high contrast.

EdgeHD optics provide smaller (more concentrated) stars that create brighter images and allow weaker magnitudes to be achieved relative to other similarly sized telescopes.

Poor image quality at the edges can scatter starlight widely to match the luminosity of the sky background, making the stars undetectable to the eye or camera.

With EdgeHD optics the user will be able to capture the faintest galaxies across the entire sensor field of a camera.

Each optical surface of Celestron telescopes is coated with XLT treatment.

The EdgeHD series models offer maximum light transmission across the entire field of view and photographic spectrum.

In addition to the new optimised optical design, the EdgeHD series tubes have been redesigned to offer the highest possible performance for every observation.

Flexible tensioning clutches hold the mirror in position and reduce image sway when the tube is rotated around the mount.

The flexible rods hold the mirror in position without exerting any pressure or force on the mount, keeping the image centred in the eyepiece (or chip).

The EdgeHD series includes today's most versatile telescopes.

With the classic f/10 the user can get the image scale needed to capture the smallest deep sky objects.

With an optional dedicated gearbox it is possible to increase the field of view without sacrificing optical performance.

A barlow lens offers the added magnification needed for high planetary, lunar and solar image resolutions.

In addition, all EdgeHD optical tubes are compatible with the Fastar system for ultra-fast wide-field imaging - f/2.

Each tube is supplied with a removable secondary mirror and are opto-mechanically aligned on a laser optical bench to ensure they are axially symmetrical in any configuration.
