Nintendo has sold over 52 million Switch consoles according to the latest quarterly financial results, but don't expect the Japanese company to celebrate with a new Switch model any time soon.
As Reuters reports, Nintendo CEO Shuntaro Furukawa has confirmed that there are no plans to expand the Switch hardware line up in 2020, or to replace an existing model.
So if you want a Switch, the choice remains between the updated original or the more portable-friendly Switch Lite.
There's also inevitably going to be a few special editions of the console, such as the Animal Crossing-themed console announced today.
The Switch has already outsold the console it replaced, the Wii U, and the latest figures confirm it's also outsold the GameCube, Nintendo 64, and the SNES.
Next on the list is the NES, which sold nearly 62 million units over its lifetime.
More significantly, it's thought the Switch($299.00 at Amazon) has also surpassed the Xbox One, which is estimated to be nearing 50 million units sold.
The PS4 is way ahead, though, on 106 million units.
