Claris International, formerly known as FileMaker, a subsidiary of Apple Inc., launched its Claris Connect workflow automation platform for small to midsize businesses (SMB) today.
Claris Connect is a low-code solution that requires little or no programming but instead relies on stringing together templates and workflows to automate rote tasks and streamline business processes.
The solution enables SMBs to cut through various time-consuming and repetitive tasks while freeing up valuable employee time. Connecting together apps with triggers and actions, is often a viable workaround to streamlining processes and more affordable than having bespoke applications coded from scratch. Pricing for Claris Connect begins at $99 per month.
Users can purchase the service on the Claris website and will be up and running in minutes.
“The right path to being cloud first is to be cloud smart,” said Brad Freitag, CEO of Claris.
“That means giving problem solvers all the power of the cloud – sharing, rapid deployment, scalability – without losing connection to the real world.”
Claris Connect includes built-in templates to instantly manage marketing leads, route prospects to sales, track IT ticket escalations, facilitate tasks like order processing. "By stitching together manual and newly-automated processes, both on-site and in the cloud, businesses using Claris Connect can escape app chaos by bringing them all together to create automated workflows and streamline business processes," Freitag said.
Claris Connect is built on Claris Core, it features End-to-end encryption, HSM key management, OAuth, MFA, and AI-based threat protection.
Claris Connect brings various integrations with popular SMB and enterprise business tools. The Latest in Low-Code Business Solutions
Low-code development platforms have started to gain momentum as a way for businesses of all sizes to implement customization and automation within their various services.
Microsoft's Power Apps Platform and Google's App Maker suite of tools represent some of the more mainstream solutions available today.
Low-code development solutions are ripe for adoption in the SMB sector, where businesses often manage multiple tools from various vendors that need to combine together to form a solutions stack.
Claris Connect is a scalable solution.
While the basic functionality is designed to be easy for user without any programming background to get up and running, they also enable advanced features.
Experienced programmers can enable automations with tools like data transformation, approvals, and webhooks for custom API integration.
"These custom workflows not only stitch together internal processes, but also link out to a huge variety of external services like DocuSign, Dropbox, Box, Slack, and many others via Claris Connect," Freitag said.
With various custom workflows at their disposal.
Claris Connect users can speed-up and streamline various repetitive business processes. Filling the Gaps Between Business Software Solutions
Claris Connect will not replace existing business software.
You won't be able to fashion a tailored CRM solution, or a better employee shift scheduling application than what you are already using.
Instead, Claris Connect can be used to fill-in the gaps and make the entire business stack work more seamlessly according to an SMB's needs.
"It’s not so much about replacing existing software, as it is about leveraging existing solutions -- by integrating and automating specific workflows among them.
In effect what is replaced is the repetitive, time consuming work that employees spend moving data and shifting tasks among apps," Freitag pointed out.
