Death Stranding comes from the mind of Hideo Kojima, the mastermind behind the Metal Gear series.
Set in a post-apocalyptic future, Death Stranding puts you in the on the role of a delivery man named Sam Porter Bridges.
As Sam (portrayed in-game by The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus), you’re tasked with delivering packages to folks across the devastated lands formerly known as the United States.
This task isn’t easy, however.
Not only do you contend with murderous thieves out to steal your cargo, but you must also avoid, or fight, the otherworldly beings that brought the world to ruin.
Like the Metal Gear franchise, Death Stranding has a dense labyrinthine narrative with numerous plot twists that don’t always make sense.
Despite the confusing story, its gameplay—which combines action, stealth, and survival elements—will keep you engaged.
Connecting and reconnecting survivors to the in-game national network makes you feel that your actions are having a positive effect on the country.
Death Stranding isn’t what one would expect from a modern-day AAA title, but that’s exactly what makes it unique.
