Starting this week, Fitbit Inspire 2 owners will be prompted to update their device software and download the Tile app to access free Bluetooth location technology.
Anyone purchasing a new Inspire 2 should have the feature available by default..
"Fitbit is empowering people to lead healthier, more active lifestyles, and we want to help by ensuring you never lose your fitness tracker," Tile CEO CJ Prober said in a statement.
"With Tile's finding technology now available directly from your Fitbit Inspire 2, you'll never have to worry about missing a step."
Whether you misplaced the wearable at home or left it at the gym, don't fret.
Tile can easily sniff out the Inspire 2 within Bluetooth range.
If it's lurking beyond that orbit, simply tap into the company's global crowdsourced GPS network for updates about your Fitbit's location.
Additional features like Smart Alerts—which proactively notify you before leaving your Fitbit Inspire 2 behind—are also available with a Tile Premium subscription, available for $2.99 per month or $29.99 annually.
"Now with Tile technology, we're adding even more convenience and helpful tools to Inspire 2," according to Larry Yang, director of product management for Fitbit Devices at Google.
