Google Pixel 4a (Image: Google) After months of rumors and leaks, Google today quietly unveiled the Pixel 4a and teased the upcoming Google Pixel 5, both of which offer updated designs and hardware, plus 5G support.
Google Pixel 4a
The $349 Google Pixel 4a is the more affordable of the two phones.
It will be available in both LTE and 5G variants and packs a 5.81-inch OLED display with thinner bezels than we've seen in previous Pixel models.
On the top-left corner, you’ll find a hole-punch display for the 8MP camera.
Display resolution comes in at 1,080 by 2,340 for 443ppi.
The 4a does not appear to have the Soli sensor for Motion Sense gestures or face unlock.
The Pixel 4a packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset with 6GB of memory and 128GB of storage.
Its 3,140mAh battery offers 18W fast charging.
There’s a fingerprint sensor on the back as well as the same 12.2MP camera sensor the company used on the Pixel 3 and 3a.
The Pixel 4a ships with Android 10; it's expected to get the Android 11 update on Sept.

Android 11 supports a bevy of new features, including floating bubbles to quickly access frequent contacts, improved security and apps permissions, and a conversations section in the notification screen that makes it easier to see social media and app updates.

Amazon is also offering the Pixel 4a with a new Google case made from over 70 percent recycled plastic for $389.
The Pixel 4a 5G will be available later this year for $499.

Google offered few details about the Pixel 5; more information is expected in late 2020.
The company said it will support 5G, and sport a larger display, higher-end hardware, and an improved camera stack with multiple lenses.
We also expect to see the Soli sensor make an appearance since improved Motion Sense gestures and face unlock details are included in the Android 11 update.
