Logitech Launches G915 TKL Wireless RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

Logitech today unveiled a new keyboard aimed at gamers who hate wires, but love mechanical switches.

The Logitech G915 TKL is a tenkeyless wireless keyboard developed to satisfy gamers by combining mechanical switches, a fast wireless connection, long battery life, and reactive RGB per-key lighting.

And it needs to impress because the G915 is priced at $229.

The compact design (368-by-150-by-22mm) and 810-gram weight should make the G915 easy to carry around while still offering a satisfying typing experience thanks to the use of GL mechanical switches.

GL switches are half the height of typical mechanical key switch, but offer 25 percent faster actuation, according to Logitech.

There's also a choice between using GL Linear, GL Tactile, and GL Clicky switches with the keyboard to suit your typing preference.

As for the wireless connection, Logitech is promising its Lightspeed wireless technology offers a 1ms report rate without compromising on battery life, which is rated at 40 hours on a full charge at full brightness.

Recharging takes three hours and the keyboard will show a low battery warning below 15 percent charge.

There's also Lightsync RGB technology, allowing for per-key lighting that synchronizes with on-screen gaming content.

Using the Logitech G Hub software, it's also possible to customize animations and in-game integrations using the available 16.8 million colors.

As well as Lightspeed wireless via USB connection, the G915 supports Bluetooth and will work out the box with Windows 7 or later, macOS X 10.11 or later, Chrome OS, Android 4.3 or later, and iOS 10 or later.

The top plate of the keyboard is made using 5052 aluminum alloy and the USB receiver can be stored in the back, so when combined with the compact design and long battery life, it should survive being carted around in a bag day-to-day.

There's also a dedicated volume wheel and media keys for when you're enjoying some non-gaming entertainment.
