New DJI Commercial Drone, Multi-Sensor Camera Take to the Skies This Summer

DJI today unveiled a new commercial drone, the Matrice 300 RTK, that promises 55 minutes of flight time, 1080p video transmission up to 9 miles away, a weather-resistant shell, and 6-pound payload.

Exclusive to the Matrice 300 RTK is DJI's Advanced Dual Operator Mode.

Two pilots share access to flight control priority, so if one were to become compromised, or their controller dies or loses connection, the other gains full control.

It also works for training pilots, allowing the teacher to quickly step in if necessary.

Pair the M300 RTK with DJI's new Zenmuse H20 multi-sensor camera and you're really in business.

The all-in-one solution, also revealed today, is aimed at industrial applications and public safety missions, "where efficient time management and immediate access to multiple layers of vision are paramount," according to a press release.

Available in two models—H20 (triple sensor, zoom and wide cameras, laser range finder) or H20T (quad sensor, thermal camera)—the Zenmuse H20 series features quick-capture and one-click capture modes, as well as night scene for poor lighting conditions.

"With the M300 RTK flying platform and the Zenmuse H20 camera series, we are providing a safer and smarter solution to our enterprise customers," Christina Zhang, senior director of corporate strategy at DJI, said in a statement.

"This solution sets an entirely new standard for industrial UAV solutions, significantly enhancing operations across public safety, law enforcement, energy, surveying and mapping, as well as critical infrastructure inspections."
