(Photo by Rafael Henrique/SOPA Images/LightRocket via Getty Images) Netflix is celebrating the release of its latest Original film by offering one person an "Immortal Netflix Account," which if you read the small print means a free subscription for 1,000 months (83.3 years).
The Netflix Original is called called The Old Guard and stars Charlize Theron in the lead role.
It's a story of centuries old warriors who regeneratively heal and use their experience to help others.
You can watch a trailer for the movie below.
As Terminal Gamer reports, in order to win the immortal Netflix account you're going to have to play The Old Guard video game launching today at 8am PST (11am ET).
It's described as a top-down beat 'em up and is played in a browser, making it accessible to just about everyone.
However, the competition only seems to be open to gamers in the US.
Here's what the game looks like in action:
Once you've practiced for a while and got pretty good at the game, simply post the highest score before the timer runs out to win the free subscription.
When the game goes live, it will remain playable for three days, giving everyone ample time to keep improving on their best score.
On July 19, the game will most likely disappear and a winner will be declared.
Whoever that ends up being gets to enjoy Netflix for the rest of their life, assuming they don't live for more than another 83 years and that Netflix is still around as a service in 2103.
The Old Guard movie is based on the comic book of the same name and was released in the US on July 10.
It was adapted by Skydance Media with a budget of $70 million, so it has quite a bit of cash to earn back from Netflix subscribers.
So far, it's been received favorably according to Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic.
The promise of an immortal Netflix account is sure to get a lot more people watching it this weekend, though.
